This conversation will discuss how African-Canadian immigrant identities are formed to limit homogenizing tendencies on people of African descent in Canada. At this event, we’ll discuss the role of race and racial discrimination in identity formation, how the cultural attributes of Black continental African immigrants, such as language and religion, have changed because of their immigration, and how their socio-economic status have been influenced when coming to Canada.
