Charting a Course Through the Public Service

Presented by Rory O’Connor

The Federal Public Service provides the opportunity for many career paths. From policy advice, to collaborating with international leaders, to setting up and delivering programs to benefit people in Canada and abroad, we will examine a career in Government concluding with a future oriented focus on the innovative and ambitious Strategic Plan for Indigenous Services Canada. Among other issues, we will discuss key competencies supporting a successful career and, more importantly, a successful contribution to Public Service.

RORY O’CONNOR is the current Federal Executive Public Servant in Residence appointed to York University’s School of Public Policy and Administration and Glendon School of Public and International Affairs. Rory joined Indigenous Services Canada as Associate Regional Director General, Atlantic Region in 2015 from Global Affairs Canada, and has worked in Canada and overseas in several Departments including the Canadian International Development Agency and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
