Gain insights into the field of human resources from Marie Tieu (BHRM Human Resources Management, 2016), Recruitment, Selection, and Onboarding Coordinator at Johnston Equipment, who says, "I learned from an early age that I wanted to be in a profession that helped people and can create positive experiences. I knew that going into the HR field, I could impact the culture of a workplace, and meet new and interesting people, learning their likes and dislikes, and learning how important people are to a thriving business. I create diversity and inclusion within the workplace, while choosing different kinds of people that make up the company culture. This is what I enjoy, and this is what I'm passionate about."
Lunch: 2:15pm to 2:45pm
This is part of the TASTE program (Take A Student To Eat). It's designed to provide York students with an opportunity to talk face to face with a York grad about their career-related interests. The program pairs two students with one of our incredible alumni over an informal lunch or coffee setting during which the alumna/us shares information about their job, industry, and organization while students gain inside information and inspiration from someone who's been there. It's an incomparable opportunity.
Interested students need to sign up to participate in this very generous offer by our alumni. We're constantly on the lookout for alumni to participate, and if you'd consider participating, find out more about what's involved.
Additional TASTE events are added regularly. See what's upcoming.
