Despite recent economic gains, the labour market is becoming increasingly precarious with the rise of continual layoffs, short-term contracting, and part-time work. It was within this new reality that Greg found himself at a painful crossroad, facing significant career challenges. Interestingly, his friends did not suffer from the changing work environment, but rather they seemed to thrive in spite of it! In an attempt to better understand this contradiction, Greg began a deeply personal journey where he compared his own actions to those of his successful friends.
This talk is aimed at those just starting their careers. The approaches and practices Greg provides are meant to maximize a person’s individual career potential. More importantly, the talk will encourage graduating students to assess not only what they bring to the table, but what potential employers have to offer them in return.
