Gain insights into the music industry from Jamelia Campbell (BA Sociology, 2015), an Associate in National Media Relations, Sony Music Entertainment Canada, Inc., who says "Entertainment has always been the centre of my life, both on stage and behind the scenes, so I found a way to marry my passions working in media relations at Sony Music. I was fortunate enough to ask the right questions to the right people and pursued a post-grad certificate at Seneca College to learn the practical skills to be a publicist, and now I'm working full time in my field of choice."
This is part of the TASTE program (Take A Student To Eat). It's designed to provide York students with an opportunity to talk face to face with a York grad about their career-related interests. The program pairs two students with one of our incredible alumni over an informal lunch or coffee setting during which the alumna/us shares information about their job, industry, and organization while students gain inside information and inspiration from someone who's been there. It's an incomparable opportunity.
Interested students need to sign up to participate in this very generous offer by our alumni. We're constantly on the lookout for alumni to participate, and if you'd consider participating, find out more about what's involved.
Additional TASTE events are added regularly. See what's upcoming.
